NEPAL 2008

Birdfinders’ 2008 Nepal tour was filled with birds and stunning scenery. From Koshi Camp in the lowland south-east of the country, to two localities in Royal Chitwan National Park, to the mountains in the centre of the country and finally to Kathmandu, we found new birds all the way: nine species of woodpeckers, five species of parakeets, 32 species of raptors (including all eight vultures), 11 species of Phylloscopus warblers, 11 Cutias and all four species of forktail, plus numerous others including the declining Black-bellied Tern, the beautiful Red-headed Bullfinch and hundreds of Snow Pigeons. The weather was unusually cold in the lowlands but warm and sunny on the trek with magnificent views of the Himalayas. Join us on our revised March 2009 tour (dates and itinerary to be announced shortly) with extra days being added to Koshi and Chitwan and the trek being offered as an extension.
